The smallest of Duke Health's four hospitals at 123 beds, it offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including 24-hour emergency care, cardiology, orthopedics, women's services, and surgical specialties. Job Summary Perform a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. Work Performed Perform tasks involving the operation of mammographic and radiographic equipment as appropriate. Position patients, using immobilization when necessary. Calculate exposure factors, assist physicians, and perform quality control functions related to mammography. Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images if needed. Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explain procedures to patients. Charge mammographic procedures and supplies in Maestro or EPIC. Provide orientation and training to new Mammographers and student Mammographers. Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data. Demonstrate proficiency in all breast imaging procedures, including interventional procedures. Monitor procedures and supply charges for completeness and accuracy. Perform other related duties incidental to the work. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Level characteristics and minimum qualifications are detailed, emphasizing the importance of certification, experience, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Qualifications Graduate or completion of a program meeting registry/certification eligibility requirements. ARRT certification in radiography and advanced certification in mammography. FDA/MQSA qualification, including meeting CE requirements. BLS certification.
