BCI Special Agent (260003QZ) Organization: Ohio Attorney General Location: United States of America, Ohio – Hamilton County (Primary) and various counties in Ohio (see details) Compensation: $37.34/hr – $52.64/hr Schedule: Full-time Primary Job Skill: Investigation Professional Skills: Attention to Detail, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Decision Making, Confidentiality Role Summary The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking an experienced BCI Special Agent for the Environmental Enforcement Unit of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). The agent will report to the London office and be responsible for overt and covert criminal investigations within the Environmental Enforcement Unit. Responsibilities Serve as a case agent responsible for all aspects of criminal investigations. Perform crime scene processing, subject, victim, and witness interviews in the field. Develop informants and confidential sources. Prepare affidavits, operational plans, and subpoenas. Conduct search warrants and surveillance operations. Perform background investigations. Make arrests. Gather, evaluate, and forward criminal intelligence information. Complete and submit investigative reports for criminal and administrative actions. Serve as liaison and cooperate with local, state, federal, and other law enforcement agencies. Provide courtroom evidence and testify in court. Confere with prosecuting attorneys. Deliver speeches or presentations to specialized audiences or the general public. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social sciences (e.g., criminology, sociology, psychology), or related field. Two (2) years of experience in investigations with a law enforcement agency. OPOTC peace officer certification or equivalent peace officer certification (another state, government agency, or military). Valid driver's license. Must be willing to relocate within 90 days to one of the following Ohio counties: Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, Warren. Completion of OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training and periodic qualification in firearms use. OR: Two (2) years of experience as a BCI Investigator. OR Equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. Preferred: Experience conducting environmental crime investigations. Benefits Medical coverage.
