Job Description Senior Designer / Architectural Designer II New York City | In-Studio $110,000 - $140,000 commensurate with experience A Senior Designer is required to join an in-studio architecture practice in New York City, taking a central role in shaping architectural ideas across a broad range of project types and scales. This is a design-led Senior Designer opportunity for someone with strong conceptual judgment, architectural rigor and the ability to guide ideas from early concept through design development, documentation and execution. You will work closely with design principals, technical leaders, project teams and junior designers in a studio environment built around critique, collaboration and shared authorship. Senior Designer / Architectural Designer II Benefits: Salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 commensurate with experience Comprehensive health, vision and dental benefits 401(k) with employer match Licensure support and continuing education In-studio culture with direct access to leadership Meaningful design responsibility across complex projects Opportunity to grow design leadership within a collaborative architecture studio The Senior Designer / Architectural Designer II Role: Lead design exploration across multiple scales and project types Develop massing, urban response, spatial organization, design narrative and architectural detail Guide multiple projects alongside junior designers, design principals and technical teams Participate in and lead client design presentations and consultant coordination meetings Ensure design intent is carried through design development and documentation Mentor and support junior designers through critique, guidance and example Participate in studio pin-ups, design reviews and ongoing design dialogue Contribute to clear communication, realistic project planning and strong design outcomes Senior Designer / Architectural Designer II Requirements: 10 years of experience in design-forward architecture studios NYC project experience preferred Experience in design-oriented offices with a strong culture of critique, collaboration and craft Demonstrated ability to develop strong architectural concepts and carry them through multiple project phases Strong understanding of urban context, zoning, massing, spatial sequencing and architectural systems Clear verbal, graphic and visual communication skills Comfortable working within regulatory, structural and programmatic constraints Interest in mentorship, collaboration and long-term growth within a studio environment Currently authorized to work in the United States This Senior Designer position is suited to someone who wants to take a visible design role, contribute to context-led architecture and help guide junior designers within an engaged studio environment.
