Responsibilities:

Draw blood from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following best practices and safety protocols.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation to maintain integrity and accuracy.

Explain procedures to patients in a professional and reassuring manner to foster trust and alleviate anxiety.

Maintain accurate records of blood draws, specimen processing, and patient interactions in designated systems.

Required Skills:

Proven experience in phlebotomy with a minimum of 6 months of direct blood collection experience; 1+ years preferred.

Excellent venipuncture skills, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to error-free work in a high-pressure setting.

Outstanding customer service and communication skills to create a positive experience for patients.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.

Familiarity with laboratory specimen handling and processing protocols.

Certification in phlebotomy (preferred but not mandatory in all states; required in certain regions such as California, Nevada, and Washington).

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training background.

Experience working in retail or service environments providing patient or customer interaction.

Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic preferred.

Minimum of 6 months of experience in phlebotomy, with over one year preferred.

Other Requirements:

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts based on staffing needs.

Reliable personal transportation to ensure punctuality and attendance; rideshare or public transportation are not considered reliable for this role.

Ability to commute within 20-25 minutes to the assigned worksite.

Active phlebotomy certification (required in certain states).

Physical dexterity required for blood collection procedures, including standing for extended periods and handling specimens.

Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic, with a focus on patient confidentiality and safety.
