Job Title: Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 / hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist to join a growing team in Houston. This role will be responsible for managing customer billing through OpenInvoice and OpenTicket, processing invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting accounts receivable operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both OpenInvoice and OpenTicket, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple customer billing requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Invoice Processing

• Process and manage customer invoices through both OpenInvoice and OpenTicket.
• Perform manual invoice entry, including coding AFEs, cost centers, requisitioners, and other customer-specific billing requirements.
• Convert approved tickets into invoices and ensure timely submission for payment.
• Submit monthly invoice batches through customer billing portals.
• Review invoices for accuracy and ensure compliance with customer billing guidelines.

Accounts Receivable & Customer Support

• Research and resolve disputed invoices, rejected invoices, and billing discrepancies.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and proactively follow up with customers regarding payment status.
• Communicate with customer Accounts Payable departments to obtain remittance information.
• Partner with the Cash Applications team to ensure timely and accurate application of customer payments.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers while providing excellent service.

Reporting & Process Support

• Utilize Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, to track invoice activity and maintain billing reports.
• Monitor invoice status, aging, and outstanding balances.
• Assist with month-end billing activities and reporting.
• Identify process improvements to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
• Support additional accounts receivable and accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable and billing experience required.
• Hands-on experience with both OpenInvoice and OpenTicket is required.
• Experience processing invoices through customer billing portals required.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, required.
• Strong understanding of invoice coding, AFEs, cost centers, and customer billing requirements.
• Experience researching and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
