MyMichigan Health, an affiliate of the University of Michigan Health, has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team in Alpena, Michigan.

This position offers a unique blend of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will work alongside experience Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Practitioners, and have the support of inpatient APPs, Behavioral Health Telehub resources, social workers, and patient care navigators.

Providers enjoy a balanced practice with opportunities to care for patients across the continuum of behavioral health services, including outpatient psychiatry, telepsychiatry, and inpatient psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult behavioral health patients
• Manage outpatient psychiatric care, including medication management and follow-up visits
• Participate in Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) services
• Conduct telemedicine visits as appropriate
• Provide psychiatric consultation services to the Emergency Department and inpatient units
• Participate in inpatient psychiatric service rotation approximately one week, every three weeks
• Complete psychiatric admissions, evaluations, and discharges for hospitalized patients
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and multidisciplinary care teams
• Participate in a shared call rotation, including holiday coverage

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Michigan medical license
• BLS Certification

Practice Details

• Full-time employed position with MyMichigan Medical Group
• 65% Outpatient and 35% inpatient responsibilities
• Outpatient schedule is Monday through Friday
• Inpatient coverage includes collaboration with providers serving both Alpena and Sault Ste. Marie locations
• Average inpatient census of 8-10 patients
• Inpatient APP support available
• Night APP coverage available for first-call support via Telehub
• Ability to customize patient panel based on provider interests and expertise

Compensation

Base salary with RVU-based incentive compensation plan. Benefits include:
