Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Loan Officer role based in Columbia, MO. The Loan Officer will guide clients through the mortgage process, from initial consultation and pre-qualification to application, approval, and closing. Daily responsibilities include assessing borrower needs, collecting and verifying financial documentation, and presenting suitable loan options that align with regulatory and company guidelines. The role involves collaborating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to move files efficiently, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate, timely communication with all parties. The Loan Officer will also build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, referral partners, and past clients to support ongoing business growth. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in loan origination and working as a Loan Officer, with a strong track record of successfully closed residential mortgage loans. Solid foundation in finance, including understanding of mortgage products, interest rates, credit analysis, and risk evaluation. Familiarity with underwriting principles and guidelines, and ability to structure files to meet investor and regulatory requirements. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, manage expectations, and maintain client trust. Knowledge of the end-to-end loan origination process, including application intake, documentation review, and coordination with internal teams. Active mortgage license in applicable jurisdiction(s) or the ability to obtain and maintain required licensing (NMLS registration required). Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS), basic office software, and secure document management tools. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple files simultaneously. High ethical standards, commitment to compliance, and adherence to Equal Housing Opportunity and fair lending regulations.
