As a subsidiary of RailWorks LLC, we maintain a national footprint, with installations across nearly all major U.S. transit systems.Job SummaryThe Assistant Engineering Manager will support Engineering Managers in overseeing rail construction projects across multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, signal, traction power, communications, civil, structural, track, and catenary systems. This role is responsible for managing engineering status reports, tracking drawings and maintaining drawing logs, and helping ensure alignment between engineering activities and schedules across multiple projects.Primary/Essential Responsibilities and DutiesSupport engineering staff in tracking and managing all engineering activities through status reports and project logsDevelop and maintain tracking logs as needed to support project requirementsAttend project meetings to stay informed on construction schedules and milestonesIdentify scheduling conflicts or delays and assist in implementing corrective actions to maintain project timelinesAssist in coordinating engineering activities to ensure alignment with overall project schedulesPrepare daily survey reports and maintain survey schedule logs in accordance with project needsMaintaining engineering survey schedule logsAssist in updating engineering schedules using a project's Critical Path Method (CPM)Provide guidance and training to engineering staff on the use of status reports and tracking toolsRequired Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related fieldProven ability to manage and prioritize multiple construction projects simultaneouslyFamiliar with CAD software such Bentley/MicroStation, REVIT, SolidWorks, or similar platformsEfficient in using project management and design workflow tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detailEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a teamHighly organized with strong time management capabilities.Willingness to travel across New York City's five boroughs for project meetings and fieldworkPhysically able to navigate construction sites (standing, climbing, stooping, crouching)Willingness to work outdoors and conduct field surveysComfortable in all weather conditions and high-noise environmentsPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsWorks outdoors at construction sites as well as indoors Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under construction Sits, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard May be exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather May be exposed to loud noiseCompany OverviewThis job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
