This Occupational Therapist position offers the opportunity to practice in an inpatient setting in Fall River, Massachusetts, a historic New England waterfront city known for its distinctive character and strong sense of community. The setting includes adult and geriatric patients with a variety of conditions, which may include orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and medically complex diagnoses. You will work closely with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, physicians, and case management to coordinate comprehensive care plans that promote optimal functional recovery and safe discharge.A typical day includes performing thorough evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to help patients regain independence in activities of daily living, mobility, and cognition. Responsibilities may include functional training, adaptive equipment recommendations, home and discharge planning, patient and family education, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team during daily rounds. You will contribute to goal setting, participation in care conferences, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.Patient caseload often includes a mix of acute and subacute-level patients, with a focus on functional outcomes and safe transitions of care. Therapists can expect a structured yet dynamic schedule, with caseload and productivity expectations typical of an inpatient hospital environment. Shifts generally follow daytime hours with potential for weekend or holiday rotations, which are shared among the therapy team to support consistent coverage and patient progress.The inpatient environment emphasizes professional development, clinical collaboration, and quality improvement. You will have opportunities to further develop skills in complex case management, participate in interdisciplinary committees, and contribute to initiatives focused on patient safety and functional outcomes. Occupational Therapist, Inpatient Rehab Experience: 2 years Licenses: OT-MA Certifications: BLS References: 1 Reference in entire work history Acute experience experience with Adult patient populations
