Company Description The Lee County Port Authority (LCPA) owns and operates Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Page Field (FMY) in Fort Myers, Florida. Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Police Officer role based in Fort Myers, FL. The Police Officer will provide safety and security across airport properties, including patrolling designated areas, responding to calls for service, and enforcing local, state, and federal laws. Daily responsibilities include conducting preliminary criminal investigations, managing incident scenes, handling and documenting evidence, and preparing accurate reports. The role also involves assisting travelers and airport staff, monitoring access control points, supporting emergency response and evacuation procedures, and collaborating with other law‑enforcement and security agencies. Police Officers are expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service while working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge and experience in law enforcement, including Police Officer duties and police procedures. Experience with criminal investigations, including interviewing, report writing, and case documentation. Ability to properly collect, handle, secure, and document evidence in accordance with legal and agency standards. Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and airport security requirements. High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or degree in criminal justice or related field preferred. Completion of a recognized police academy and current state law enforcement certification, or eligibility to obtain certification as required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to pass background checks, medical evaluations, and other required pre‑employment screenings. Effective communication, de‑escalation, and conflict resolution skills; ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities.
