Our infrastructure teams provide foundational services for developers, engineers, and partners to ensure our tax systems are secure, simple to use, and elastic.We are looking for a leader, a thinker, a Virtualization Engineer with the gumption to lead a team of spirited and capable engineers in support of FTB's enterprise virtualization and cloud solutions. As the lead, some of your primary responsibilities include architecting new solutions for technical customers, maintaining existing infrastructure, planning and procuring new equipment, and working hand in hand with your peers to help FTB exceed the mission.

- Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining highly available virtualization technologies including but not limited to: VMware vSphere 8 or 9 hypervisor software and VMware Cloud Foundation; VMware vRealize Operations and VMware Automation; Virtual Desktop infrastructure including Omnissa Workspace One with Horizon Suite and Azure Virtual Desktop; Dell PowerEdge server hardware and software
- Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Kubernetes in support containerization, orchestration and deployment
- Knowledge and experience supporting OpenShift Container Platform and OpenStack integrated virtual environments
- Knowledge and experience designing storage solutions in support of virtualization technologies
- Knowledge of VMware server monitoring, performance tuning, patching and hardening, and backups and restores
- Ability to effectively work with network, storage, and wiring teams to communicate VMware hypervisor related infrastructure requirements
- Knowledge and experience planning, designing, and implementing Cloud IaaS and PaaS solutions including but not limited to: Azure landing zones, Azure VMware Solution, and virutal machines; Amazon Web Services landing zones and virtual machines; Azure Virtual Desktop
- Experience with Openmanage, VxRail, VMware VSAN
- Experience with scripting languages, markup, and config files including PowerShell, Python, JSON, & YAML.
- Experience with IaC
- Experience with data protection pertaining to virtualization technologies
- Experience identifying emerging trends in IT and researching and evaluating technology products
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to properly delegate workload to leverage team skill sets
- Ability to perform detailed analysis, define technical problems, reason logically, and recommend effective solutions
