Certified Welding InspectorPennoni is seeking fulltime and part time certified welding inspectors in Hartford, CT in addition to CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT to support QA fabrication inspection programs for transportation infrastructure projects. This position involves inspection of structural steel fabrication, welding, and coatings at off-site fabrication facilities supporting transportation agency projects.Job Responsibilities:Perform inspection of structural steel fabrication, welding, and coatingsVerify compliance with shop drawings, WPS/PQRs, and welder certificationsEnsure adherence to applicable codes and standards, including AWS D1.5/D1.1, AASHTO, and DOT specificationsMonitor fabrication processes including welding, bolting, and coatingWitness and document NDT activitiesIdentify and report non-conformancesPrepare detailed daily reportsCoordinate with fabricators and project teamsProvide updates to clients, and internal project teamsRequired Qualifications:AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Minimum 0-3 years structural steel fabrication inspection experienceExperience in fabrication shop environmentsKnowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.5 requirementsStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to travelPreferred Qualifications:NDT certifications (UT, MT, RT film interpretation)Coating inspection experience (AMPP/NACE/SSPC)Bolting inspection experienceDOT fabrication inspection experienceFracture-critical inspection experienceWork Environment:Work is primarily at fabrication facilities with travel based on project needs. Overtime or weekend work may be required.
