Janitor - 2nd Shift

JOB TITLE: Janitor DEPARTMENT: Facilities


**POSITION REQUIRES AN AERIAL LIFT LICSENSE** (Ability to obtain the License)

JOB SUMMARY: The Janitor position is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment by cleaning all areas of the facility continuously to promote safety, hygiene, and good housekeeping.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for all trash in office areas, restrooms, lunchrooms and break areas on a daily basis.
2. Cleans locker rooms, lunchrooms, and break areas on a daily basis including sweeping, mopping, and wiping/disinfecting hard surfaces.
3. Cleans offices thoroughly on a weekly basis, including dusting, sweeping and special requests.
4. Walks through all areas at least twice per shift for any additional cleaning needed.
5. Washes respirators daily and changes filters - as needed.
6. Responsible for shoveling walks and applying salt in the winter.
7. Ability to run floor scrubber as directed and performs scheduled scrubbing under racks after supervisor has forklift operator remove stored items.
8. Responsible for wiping down plant production equipment when it is feasible due to production demands.
9. Conducts regular cleaning of curing ovens as directed by supervisor.
10. Empties cardboard carts and bales cardboard to proper baler.
11. Is responsible for:
    1. Understanding and following policies, procedures, and instructions
    2. Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
    3. Controlling nonconforming products
    4. Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvements actions
12. Responsible for cleaning duct work within the Casting department. Will be expected to be able to operate an aerial lift
13. Any other duties as assigned by Facilities Support Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or any other members of the Facilities Management team.
14. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.

***Daily responsibilities may be changed based on staffing, absenteeism, and current production schedules. Reassignment of the daily responsibilities will be from the direction of the Supervisor on duty at that time.***

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age
• 2-4 verifiable Janitorial experience preferably in an industrial manufacturing setting

**POSITION REQUIRES AN AERIAL LIFT LICSENSE**

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position operates in an industrial plant floorenvironment. This role routinely uses industrial equipment and tools works near moving mechanical parts. Seasonally, can be extremely hot. Respirator required as needed, specifically when working in high lead areas.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Be able to bend, twist, and turn. Use of both hands, to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance ; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl.


The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds infrequently.
