Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Are you a skilled, experienced veterinary technician who's ready to step into a leadership role - in an urgent care setting where no two shifts look the same and your clinical instincts actually matter?

First State Urgent Vet - Wilmington is seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team and help lead a fast-paced, mission-driven urgent care practice where technicians and assistants are empowered to use their full range of skills.

Our urgent care setting blends the best of general practice and emergency medicine - you'll triage patients, provide life-saving treatments, and still get to celebrate a perfectly healthy puppy coming in for vaccines. It's how we cope, and it's part of what makes us a team worth joining.

This is a hands-on leadership position - not a desk job. You'll be right there on the floor mentoring your team, triaging patients, and collaborating closely with the hospital owners, practice manager, and our Wilmington location's tech supervisor counterpart. If you're someone who thrives in controlled chaos, communicates clearly under pressure, and leads by doing - we'd love to meet you.

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Strong clinical foundation across both outpatient and urgent/emergency procedures
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians and assistants
• Clear, professional communication with team members, doctors, and clients - including in high-stress and emotionally sensitive situations
• Calm, efficient, and organized during medical emergencies
• Strong work ethic, adaptability, and the ability to find some humor in the chaos while staying compassionate and grounded
• Scheduling, workflow coordination, and team communication
• Mentorship and on-the-job training of support staff
• Effective teamwork and professional communication at all levels
• Proficiency in the following clinical skills is also required:
