Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated healthcare professionals to join our Medical/Surgical unit. This position requires a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines.

Position Details

Shift: 7PM - 7AM

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

Start Date: December 14

Location: Lee's Summit, MO

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Staffing: Technician available for every 10-12 patients
• Type of Equipment:
  
  
  • Dynamap (WelchAllyn)
  • Telemetry with screens at the nurses' station
  • Alaris IV pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling and Floating Policy

Shift scheduling will require working every other weekend. The floating policy dictates that staff will float first to the orthopedic or telemetry unit, depending on competencies.

Patient Experience Requirements

• Bedside shift report
• Hourly safety rounds with patients
• AIDET compliance (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)
• Personal connections with patients

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS
• Basic Dysrhythmia
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Skills and Qualifications

• Must Have:
  
  
  • Time management skills
  • IV start experience
  • Patient experience skills
• Advanced Skills Needed:
  
  
  • Procedures performed on unit do not require conscious sedation.

Dress Code

The required uniform consists of charcoal gray scrubs (top and bottom).
