Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector I

Pay Rate: $19.00/hour + $1.75/hour shift differential
Location: East Providence, RI
Duration: Temp-to-Perm
Openings: 3
Shift: 3rd Shift, Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM

Job Summary

We are seeking Quality Assurance Inspectors to join a manufacturing team in a controlled production environment. In this role, you will inspect finished and in-process products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. Inspectors will be assigned to a specific product area and will be responsible for completing inspections, documenting results, and identifying products that do not meet requirements.

Employees who successfully convert to permanent employment may have the opportunity to advance to a Level II position, which includes an additional $1.00/hour increase.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections according to established sampling plans and procedures.
• Interpret basic engineering drawings, dimensions, and notes related to products being inspected.
• Package, weigh, and label inspected products while accurately recording accepted and rejected quantities.
• Perform measurements using various inspection equipment, including digital calipers, gauges, go/no-go pins, optical comparators, tensile testers, and other measuring tools.
• Conduct functional testing as required.
• Properly maintain and care for inspection and testing equipment.
• Determine product acceptability based on established quality standards and procedures.
• Document inspection results and properly identify accepted, rejected, or nonconforming product.
• Perform sorting and rework activities when necessary.
• Follow all applicable safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Inspection experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or production experience is a plus.
• Experience using basic inspection or measurement tools is helpful.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a manufacturing/laboratory environment.
• Position requires standing for the majority of the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Frequent use of hands for detailed inspection and measurement activities.
• Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hair covering, and lab coat, is required.
• Position requires close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
• Magnification may be used during the inspection process.
• Noise levels are generally quiet to moderate.
