Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Cath Lab/EP RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This role involves supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures with a focus on patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients condition accurately prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and understanding current health status.
  
  
• 
  Deliver competent clinical care during cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology procedures, supporting the healthcare team.
  
  
• 
  Maintain complete and precise documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and educational efforts in accordance with policies.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies, identifying areas for growth, and maintaining a high standard of practice.
  
  
• 
  Foster a positive environment by responding courteously to patients, families, and staff, ensuring confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  
  
• 
  Follow safety protocols, including Universal Protocol, patient identification, and proper use of emergency equipment.
  
  
• 
  Individualize patient care based on diagnoses, procedure types, and anesthesia considerations, assessing patient responses throughout care continuum.
  
  
• 
  Assume responsibility for directing patient care, prioritizing interventions, and adapting to changing conditions.
  
  
• 
  Conduct pre-operative and post-operative education, assessing patient understanding of procedures and instructions.
  
  
• 
  Support pre-admission testing, reviewing orders for appropriateness and potential omissions based on surgery specifics and patient health.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a valid RN license and current BLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate at least 2 years of critical care experience or relevant cardiovascular nursing.
  
  
• 
  Hold ACLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Graduate from an accredited Nursing program; Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
  
  
• 
  Possess strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.
