Cyber Underwriter

The Cyber Underwriter will produce and underwrite new and renewal business within the fast-growing Cyber Division. The role will be responsible for assessing the cybersecurity maturity and insurability of business entities across a wide range of industry sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, helping improve the technical expertise and underwriting guidelines within the division, as well as developing relationships with our key broker partners to achieve our team's shared goals. To be successful the candidate must be self-motivated, adaptable to a changing marketplace, and able to work and collaborate as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Achieving individual and team premium and production goals balanced with maintaining target loss ratios.
• Demonstrating technical and strategic underwriting skills when assessing each submission for new and renewal cyber policies in all target business segments within the business plan.
• Understanding key underwriting considerations and distinguishing aspects of various types and sizes of risks ranging from large to small.
• Managing new and renewal business processes including building submission pipelines, issuing quotes, binders and policies in a timely manner and maintaining frequent correspondence with brokers.
• Proactively fostering and developing positive relationships with key broker and agent partners.
• Assisting with administrative documentation of risks and ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.
• Analyzing technology trends and staying up to date with emerging risks to identify opportunities and exposures.
• Operating within the established underwriting authority and within the parameters of the underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborating with the team and other internal peers within other aligned business units to drive portfolio strategies.

Preferred Experience & Education:

• 4-year degree BA/BS or equivalent education and/or work experience.
• Experience underwriting Cyber/Tech E&O, or alternatively technical or consulting-related cybersecurity work experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft suite of products
