Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fractional Human Resources Consultant to independently manage and oversee all human resources functions for our growing commercial electrical contracting company.

The ideal candidate will serve as our fully outsourced HR department , taking complete ownership of daily HR operations with minimal involvement from company leadership.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, not an advisory-only position.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruitment & Hiring: Manage the entire recruiting process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, background checks, offer letters, and hiring coordination.
• Onboarding & Offboarding: Handle all new-hire documentation, orientation coordination, employee separations, and exit procedures.
• Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, workplace issues, disciplinary actions, performance management, and employee communications.
• HR Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable federal and Georgia employment laws, employment documentation, and recordkeeping requirements.
• HR Administration: Maintain personnel files, employee records, HR systems, policies, procedures, and updates to the employee handbook.
• Payroll & Benefits Coordination: Coordinate employee changes, benefits administration, leave management, and payroll-related HR matters.
• Workers' Compensation: Coordinate workplace injury documentation, employee leave, and return-to-work procedures.
• HR Oversight: Proactively manage HR deadlines, required documentation, compliance matters, and ongoing HR needs without constant direction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of comprehensive HR experience.
• Experience independently managing an organization's entire HR function.
• Strong knowledge of federal and Georgia employment laws.
• Proven experience in recruiting, employee relations, HR compliance, and administration.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Construction or skilled-trades industry experience preferred.
• SHRM or PHR certification preferred.

Engagement Requirements

• Must operate as an independent contractor or established HR consulting business.
• Must be available and responsive during regular business hours.
• Must provide a W-9 and applicable business documentation.
• Confirmation that you carry professional liability/E&O insurance, A MUST
• Must be comfortable managing HR responsibilities remotely.

Work Arrangement & On-Site Availability

This position is primarily remote; however, the consultant must be available to provide in-person HR support at our Atlanta, Georgia office when business needs require .

While most HR responsibilities may be performed remotely, certain matters—including employee relations, workplace investigations, disciplinary meetings, onboarding, terminations, and other sensitive personnel matters—may require an on-site presence.

The selected consultant must be local to the Atlanta metropolitan area or able to reliably travel to our office as needed. Flexibility, responsiveness, and the ability to independently determine when in-person HR involvement is necessary are essential.

We expect the consultant to manage all HR functions proactively, whether remotely or on-site, with minimal involvement from company leadership.

Compensation, Availability & Billing

Compensation: $65 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule: Monday–Friday availability, with services performed on an as-needed basis.

Work Arrangement: Primarily remote, with in-person availability required at our Atlanta, Georgia office when necessary.

The consultant must be accessible and responsive during normal business hours; however, this engagement does not require a fixed daily schedule or guaranteed weekly hours.

Compensation will be based strictly on actual HR services performed. The consultant will submit itemized invoices detailing the services provided and time spent. No compensation will be paid solely for being available.

The consultant must be capable of independently managing all HR functions, responding to employee-related matters, and providing on-site support when necessary.
