Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
\n
\nClinical Care
\n• Perform comprehensive examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and preventive care.
\n• Provide restorative treatment, pulp therapy, stainless steel crowns, esthetic crowns, space maintainers, uncomplicated extractions, and other pediatric dental procedures.
\n• Utilize minimally invasive treatment options whenever appropriate, including Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), Hall Technique, resin infiltration, and other evidence-based approaches.
\n• Administer nitrous oxide sedation and participate in hospital dentistry cases as appropriate.
\n• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
\n• Follow current evidence-based clinical guidelines while exercising sound clinical judgment.
\n \nPatient & Family Education
\n• Educate children and their families about oral health, prevention, nutrition, home care, growth and development, and treatment options.
\n• Take the time to answer questions thoroughly, ensuring families understand diagnoses, treatment recommendations, risks, benefits, and alternatives so they can make informed decisions.
\n• Present treatment recommendations with empathy, professionalism, and confidence.
\n• Build trusting relationships through honest communication and compassionate care.
\n• Help create positive dental experiences that reduce fear and encourage lifelong oral health.
\n \nTeamwork & Collaboration
\n• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
\n• Adapt successfully to both single-doctor and double-doctor schedules while maintaining efficiency, communication, and a positive team environment.
\n• Communicate proactively regarding patient care, scheduling, treatment planning, and clinical workflow.
\n• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to help teammates to ensure the best possible patient experience.
\n• Treat every member of the team with professionalism, respect, and kindness.
\n \nProfessional Development
\n• Participate in continuing education and remain current with advances in pediatric dentistry.
\n• Embrace new technologies and evidence-based treatment philosophies.
\n• Seek opportunities for professional growth and contribute ideas that improve patient care and practice operations.
\n• Participate in mentorship, case discussions, and collaborative learning.
\n \nQualifications
\n• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
\n• Pediatric Dentistry residency preferred.
\n• Board-certified or board-eligible pediatric dentist preferred.
\n• Experienced general dentists with significant pediatric dental experience are encouraged to apply.
\n• Pennsylvania dental license (or eligibility for licensure).
\n• Nitrous oxide permit and DEA registration, or ability to obtain.
