Assistant Controller

KBW is Partnered with a high growth organization in the Greater Portland area in their search for an Assistant Controller to join its accounting and finance team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role and is looking to take on increased responsibility within a collaborative environment. This is a fully onsite opportunity in the Portland, ME area with a compensation range of $115,000 - $135,0000 DOE. Responsibilities Support the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and other general ledger activity Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and other accounting functions as needed Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Coordinate and support year-end audit activities and preparation of audit schedules Help maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and procedures Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and overall efficiency Provide guidance and support to accounting team members and assist with workflow management Support the Controller and broader finance team with special projects and other financial analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong general ledger and month-end close experience Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Experience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements Strong Excel skills and experience working with an ERP/accounting system Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments #J-18808-Ljbffr KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting
