Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Providing specialized nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for mothers and their babies. The L&D RN will monitor fetal and maternal health, assist with deliveries, and provide postpartum support.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate maternal and fetal vital signs regularly to detect any complications.
• Assist physicians and healthcare providers during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures.
• Educate patients on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and sanitation standards in the delivery unit.
• Support emotional well-being of patients and their families during the childbirth process.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current RN licensure with a focus on Labor & Delivery.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a labor and delivery setting.
• Strong knowledge of obstetric, fetal, and neonatal care best practices.
• Ability to perform assessments, support labor, and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
