Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay (OMG) is a well-established, fast-paced orthopaedic practice with 9 locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. Our team specializes in sports medicine and the surgical and non-surgical treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. We are seeking a motivated Clinical Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Athletic Trainer interested in expanding their career within the orthopaedic clinical setting and working directly alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals. Salary: $55,000–$62,000 annually Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday Location: Multiple Tampa Bay clinic locations Orthopaedic clinical and/or fellowship experience preferred What You’ll Do Our Athletic Trainers play an integral role in the day-to-day care of our orthopaedic patients. Responsibilities include: Room patients, obtain detailed histories, and update the electronic medical record (EMR) Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient evaluations and in-office procedures Draw blood and assist with the preparation of PRP and other biologic injections Triage clinical patient calls and communicate patient concerns to the appropriate provider Educate patients regarding home exercise programs, activity modifications, and treatment plans Fit and educate patients on braces, splints, crutches, and other durable medical equipment (DME) Provide support to our physical therapy and service center teams as needed Assist with sports medicine outreach, community events, and traditional athletic training coverage when needed Coordinate patient care with physicians, APPs, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team Maintain accurate clinical documentation and billing information when applicable Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and other regulatory requirements Participate in educational programs, performance improvement initiatives, and student supervision when applicable Perform additional clinical and athletic training responsibilities as assigned What We’re Looking For We are looking for an Athletic Trainer who is comfortable working in a high-volume, team-oriented orthopaedic environment and is eager to continue developing their clinical skills. The ideal candidate: Demonstrates strong patient history-taking and musculoskeletal assessment skills Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and team members Is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment Demonstrates initiative, reliability, and a strong work ethic Is organized and able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities Has a strong desire to learn and grow within orthopaedics and sports medicine Works well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team Orthopaedic clinical experience and/or completion of an Athletic Training fellowship or residency program is strongly preferred. Required Qualifications BOC Certified Athletic Trainer – Required Eligible for Athletic Trainer licensure in the State of Florida – Required Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability and willingness to travel between OMG locations throughout the Tampa Bay area Preferred Experience 1+ year of Athletic Training experience 1+ year of orthopaedic clinical experience Experience working directly with orthopaedic physicians or advanced practice providers Orthopaedic residency or fellowship training Additional Responsibilities Athletic Trainers may occasionally provide sports medicine coverage, injury prevention education, or community outreach under standing orders from a physician. In the non-clinical setting, the Athletic Trainer reports to the Director of Athletic Training Services. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position operates in a combination of clinical and office environments and requires regular interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. The position involves frequent standing and walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and assisting patients as needed. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or carry approximately 5–30 pounds or assist with patient mobility. The role requires the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment and may involve occasional schedule adjustments or extended hours based on patient and business needs.
