Overview The Senior Red Team Engineer is responsible for identifying emerging threats, measuring impacts, and creating proof‑of‑concept prototypes. The role reports to the Director of Offensive Security. Essential Functions Conduct Red Team campaigns and adversary emulation exercises. Execute Purple‑Team exercises and efficacy tests. Analyze impact and blast radius of vulnerabilities and attacks. Develop scripts, tools, and methodologies to automate and streamline internal processes. Generate reports that communicate campaign details, results, and remediation recommendations. Collaborate with internal security partners to scope engagements, identify complex vulnerabilities, and demonstrate real‑world impact. Identify trends across security assessment findings, bug bounty reports, and enterprise vulnerabilities and determine root cause and real‑world impact. Support internal Cyber Security Incident Response and Cyber Threat Intelligence Teams by analyzing and replicating emerging and active threats. Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 6 years of information security experience, including at least 2 years in offensive security. Experience with tools and techniques for network, cloud, and web campaigns and execution of new exploits at scale. Knowledge of threat modeling, cloud security, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and defensive security and detection techniques including offensive evasion. Proficiency in writing and maintaining scripts and programs in PowerShell, Go, and Python. Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Bachelor’s degree with a relevant focus or equivalent experience. Successful background check and drug screen. Preferred Qualifications Experience with adversary emulation toolsets. Ability to scale from a single vulnerability to organization‑wide impact analysis. In‑depth understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE CAPEC, and the Cyber Kill Chain. Experience with mobile application testing and vulnerabilities. Hands‑on offensive cybersecurity certifications such as OSCP, ePTX, GPEN, HTB CPTS, or equivalent. Cloud certifications like SAA/SAP, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent. Physical Requirements The environment is a normal office setting. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive computer use, with about four hours of sitting. Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching may be required. The employee must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and must have adequate visual acuity and dexterity. Compensation and Benefits Base pay ranges: Phoenix, AZ/Chicago, IL – $132,000 to $165,000; San Francisco, CA – $158,000 to $198,000. Pay is subject to change and is not guaranteed. Candidates are eligible for discretionary incentives and benefits.
