Basic Life Support certification is required, and you must be able to pass an EKG exam at orientation. Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and phlebotomy skills are necessary. Recommended skills include strong critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to educate patients and families. Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and tube feeds is preferred.
