Location: NYC, Long Island & Upstate NY (Albany Area)
Duration: 4-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $25/hour + Mileage, Tolls & Hotel Reimbursement
About the Role

We are seeking a Field Engineer to support construction materials testing, geotechnical inspections, and geothermal projects across the New York region. This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity requiring daily travel to active construction sites and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform concrete testing, including slump, air content, and cylinder sampling.
• Conduct soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone methods.
• Support geotechnical inspections and geothermal drilling projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare daily field reports, testing logs, and photo documentation.
• Communicate findings with contractors, engineers, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical inspection, soil testing, or related construction field work.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout NYC, Long Island, and Upstate New York.
• SST Card required for NYC job sites.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACI and/or NICET Certification.
• Experience with nuclear gauge density testing.
• Geothermal or drilling project experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Work Environment

• 90%+ field-based role.
• Travel throughout NYC, Long Island, and the Albany/Upstate NY region.
• Standard day shift with occasional evening, weekend, and overtime opportunities.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
