Production Manager

Production Manager HD HPT is the nation's largest producer of U.S. made large scale power transformers. These transformers are essential as the need is forever increasing. HD HPT is expanding with the production of a new facility and is in immediate need of a Production Manager. Leader by example in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Professional Communication. A person who subscribes to the positive aspects of a professional, personable, but effective leadership style of positive, professional management. This position requires constant strategy development to improve the manufacturing process and reducing overtime by improving efficiency. Other duties may be assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Overall planning, scheduling and completion of work required to support all manufacturing activities in compliance with all regulatory requirements in a cost effective manner and in accord with planned budget. Apply knowledge of lean manufacturing, including cost reduction and efficiency planning. Plan, direct and control activities of supervisors in order to meet overall departmental and plant objectives. Interface with all plant management groups, including quality, design, sales, customer service, finance and human resources in order to meet production, quality and compliance requirements. Develop manufacturing plans and supporting services to attract and retain customers. Understands supports and maintains safety and safe working practices in all production operations. Maintains compliance with OSHA regulations related to manufacturing. Must exhibit leadership ability and people skills in relation to motivation of others. Understands and implements 3C5S methods in all processes. Qualifications BS/BA Degree. Strong experience in the manufacturing environment. Ability to maintain a professional attitude under pressure. Availability to work overtime during holidays and shutdown if required. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint along with the ability to learn SAP. Good verbal/written communication skills are required. Background with manufacturing methods, procedures, and continuous improvement programs.
