Job Description

The competent Nurse, practicing independently in a similar clinical setting, demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing routine and complex care, with a keen ability to meet long-range goals and plans while developing the capability to manage various clinical contingencies.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing processes including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, while monitoring for side effects and the effectiveness of treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in NICU nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current NRP certification required.
• Current STABLE certification required from a recognized course.
• Active RN License in the state of TX or compact.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
