Shop Assembler (1st Shift)

There's a specific kind of satisfaction that comes from looking at a finished truss and knowing your hands built it from a pile of precut steel. That's the daily reality of the Shop Assembler position based in Holland, Michigan.

This is a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility in Holland, Michigan producing light-gauge metal truss components used in construction. The environment is structured, first shift only, and the facility doesn't run nights or weekends. Overtime, when it happens, is added to the front or back of the day shift, not pushed to a different crew.

The work runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each day involves moving precut light-gauge metal parts to your work area, reading engineered design specs and assembly instructions, and building trusses from the ground up using hammers, cordless drills, screw guns, and saws. You'll verify dimensions before assembly begins, position components using templates or measurements, check connections for proper fit, fasten subassemblies together, and then measure the completed unit against spec before it leaves your hands. The pace is production-oriented but the work itself requires focus and consistent attention to detail.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hour shifts and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read and follow engineered assembly instructions and parts lists
• Comfortable using hand tools including cordless drills, screw guns, hammers, and saws
• 1 year of manufacturing or construction experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English
