Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a Cardiac Short Stay unit, requiring 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year on a cardiac unit and competency with venous sheath pulls.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Short Stay department caring for patients pre and post CVL procedures
• Unit operates 24 hours a day to accommodate patient throughput
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• No on-call requirements
• Every other weekend required
• Floating as needed within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Uses Cerner PowerChart charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending MI RN license required (must apply within 24 hours of offer if pending)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, including at least 1 year on a cardiac unit
• Competency with venous sheath pulls required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Nursys background check required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to cardiac patients pre and post cardiac catheterization procedures
• Skills utilized may include sheath removal, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted; travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during holidays, travelers must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 holidays
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Completion of up to 8 hours of training modules within 1 week of signing is preferred, to be completed prior to start
