Ultrasound TechThe Ultrasound Tech provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.Job Responsibilities:Maintains American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.Perform exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.Operates equipment.Perform patient identification.Maintains documentation.Provides customer service.Completes management reporting.Performs vascular procedures.Maintains cleaning standards.Applies imaging techniques.Demonstrates anatomical knowledge.Prioritize tasks effectively.Demonstrates effective communication.Works independently.Works collaboratively in a team.Responds to emergency situations.Evaluates images.Skills:Required Skills & Experience:One (1) or more years of experience.Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.Ability to use computers and perform typing for documentation and accessing information.Ability to lift, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.Ability to walk and assist with transporting or ambulating patients.Ability to push and pull equipment such as gurneys and portable devices.Ability to navigate crowded and busy environments.Ability to stand for extended periods of time.Preferred Skills & Experience:N/AEducation:Required Education:High School Diploma/GED.Preferred Education:Completion of College-level finance and/or accounting course.Required Certifications & Licensure:Health Services\BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers).Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast Specialty (RDMS (BR)) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular).Preferred Certifications & Licensure:N/A
