The nurse will provide care in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit. Ratios will be 1:4, with couplet care for mothers and babies. Nurses are required to float and assist in other units as needed. The schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Call requirements include two mandatory shifts every six weeks. Every other weekend commitment is necessary. The unit experiences approximately 800 births per year. Preferred skills include EPIC charting system experience. Daily census in the unit averages eight patients. The position may require assisting with special procedures including but not limited to labor induction and postpartum protocols. Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education are essential. Nurses should be knowledgeable in managing high-risk deliveries.
