Laundry Attendant

The Laundry Attendant cleans and stores hotel linens/ uniforms in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotel's laundry and linen needs are met. Primary duties consist of performing office or non-manual work directly related to management or general business operations. Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Receives soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors. Sorts all articles by kind, color and degree of soil. Inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items. Loads washers with soiled linen. Removes wet linen from washer and loads into dryer. Unloads the dryer with clean linen. Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers' guidelines. Ensures necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles. Transfers clean linen from dryer to folding tables. Folds clean linens and stores as appropriate. Operates linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines. Assists in daily linen counts for monthly inventories. Informs supervisor of malfunctioning equipment. Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction. Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress. Attendance is a key component of this position. Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with Company standards; wears the appropriate uniform or attire. Maintains open and effective communication with team members and management. Attends and participates in team meetings. Adheres to established safety and emergency procedures and protocols, this includes Company, federal, and state specific regulations and guidelines. Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned. Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE No prior experience or training required. No supervisory experience required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS This position does not require licenses or certifications.
