Plumbing EngineerLocations: Meriden, Hartford, Norwood, Warwick, Charlotte, WilmingtonBL Companies is growing and is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) group. This role is responsible for the engineering design, analysis, and coordination of plumbing systems for a variety of building types, ensuring efficient, code-compliant, and innovative solutions.The successful candidate will support plumbing engineering projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to department-wide design deliverables. This role requires a strong foundation in plumbing system design and construction documentation.This position is ideal for an engineer/designer seeking a collaborative environment where technical expertise drives innovative plumbing solutions.*This role can be based in any of the following offices: Meriden, Hartford, Norwood, Warwick, Charlotte, Wilmington*Key Responsibilities:Design plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects, including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, and specialty systems.Develop and review construction documents, specifications, and detailed engineering drawings.Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards, and sustainable design principles.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction challenges.Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers, sharing best practices in plumbing system design and engineering principles.Contribute to the development of firmwide plumbing design standards, workflows, and technical guidelines.Required Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plumbing Engineering (or related field) or a minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience.3+ years of experience with commercial or industrial design in Revit; residential experience is a plus.CPD certification (or in progress).Proven experience designing plumbing systems in a professional engineering setting.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel.Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and industry best practices.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to support multidisciplinary teams.Fire Protection experience is a plus.BL Companies is 100% employee owned, giving us a competitive edge and a unique distinction from most other companies.
