Job Summary

We are seeking a per diem Phlebotomist to work onsite at 260 Merrimac Street in Newburyport, MA. The Blood Draw Lab is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:45pm. Our Phlebotomists play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and are responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens from patients for laboratory testing.

Essential Functions

• Obtains quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, processing, handling, and transportation of specimens.
• Communicates effectively with patients and patient care teams, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Handles sharps and biohazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Works fluently with computer programs and systems, and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.
