Direct Counsel is partnering with an AmLaw 10 law firm to identify a talented Real Estate (Equity) Associate (2–5 years of experience) to join its Real Estate practice in Chicago .
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking to work on complex commercial real estate equity transactions within a premier real estate platform. The team advises sophisticated clients—including private equity sponsors, investment funds, and institutional investors —on high-value real estate transactions across a variety of asset classes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on commercial real estate equity transactions
Work on joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
Assist with deal structuring, due diligence, and transaction execution
Draft and negotiate real estate transaction documents and agreements
Collaborate with deal teams on complex and high-value real estate matters
2–5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience at a leading law firm
Experience handling real estate equity transactions , including joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions
Borrower-side real estate finance experience preferred
Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
Outstanding academic credentials
Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility to obtain admission
Join a top-tier AmLaw 10 real estate practice
Work on sophisticated and high-value real estate transactions
Collaborate with leading real estate investors and private equity sponsors
