Area Digital Delivery Manager

Area Digital Delivery Manager Oversee the development and expansion of HDR’s Digital Delivery practice within the Transportation Business Group, supporting Architecture, Engineering, and Construction teams across Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. This role is responsible for standardizing BIM and VDC workflows, including 3D clash detection, 4D phasing, 5D cost estimation, and digital asset management. The position collaborates closely with area Market Sector and Business Class teams, as well as Transportation Digital Delivery Leadership to enhance project delivery through technology, develop standards and training, and build a high‑performing Digital Delivery team. Responsibilities Lead the development, growth, and resources of the Digital Delivery practice for the area to support Architecture, Engineering, and Construction teams. Standardize and grow the area Digital Delivery Program to support VDC/BIM, Data Acquisition, 3D Clash Detection, 4D Construction Phasing, 5D Cost Estimation, and Asset Management across various sectors within the Transportation industry. Work in close coordination with area Project Controls, Geospatial Information Management, and Visualization & Interactive Design teams to enhance project delivery through effective use of technology‑related services. Collaborate with National Digital Delivery Leadership to develop Area/Regional BIM Standards, best practices, training, knowledge‑sharing networks, and technology implementation while establishing a regional presence to support growth of the Digital Delivery practice. Identify staffing needs through working with area leadership to build the Digital Delivery team and BIM staff for successful project delivery. Lead Digital Delivery/BIM Management of Regional Mega Projects, working alongside Project Managers to develop scope, fees, and BIM Execution Plans, and establish and communicate standards, protocols, and best practices with multidisciplinary teams. Work with Area CAD Managers to coordinate submittals for clients, governmental agencies, permitting agencies, etc., for reviews, approvals, and other milestones. Lead the team and establish best practices for thorough QA/QC of models and sheet files for standards compliance and discipline coordination. Lead the setup, implementation, and oversight of projects Common Data Environments with support from application specialists. Handle multiple, demanding, and complex projects in a timely manner with accurate and measurable results. Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of Digital Delivery/BIM Management, demonstrated performance of managing large linear infrastructure Digital Delivery programs to integrate Civil and Architectural Design. Associate or Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or similar preferred. 10+ years of experience with civil engineering/site development & Architectural projects, with a proven track record serving as BIM Manager on large‑scale infrastructure projects. Experience in model authoring/CAD software such as Civil3D, Revit, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer. Proficiency in BIM management and coordination tools such as Navisworks, BIM360, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud/iTwins, Synchro, and Assemble, supporting BIM uses like clash detection, 4D construction phasing, model health assessments, extended reality, digital twins, and digital asset management. Ability to manage CAD standards and workspaces in Common Data Environments (e.g., ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud), with familiarity with ISO‑19650 standards. Certified Professional in Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D, with experience integrating GIS into BIM workflows and publishing 3D models to GIS. Understanding of reality capture methods and integration of existing conditions data into design workflows. Awareness of current and future artificial intelligence applications in the AEC industry and BIM/CAD, including potential benefits and risks. Extensive knowledge of BIM, design development, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledge. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including ability to gather, organize, and interpret data for process monitoring or business case development. Oral and written communication skills. Required Qualifications Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience. A minimum of 5 years of digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years of digital delivery (model management) experience. Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems. Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure. Advanced skillset in 3D coordination tools. Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office products and communication tools. Familiar with industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications. Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies. Familiar with 3D design software add‑ins and supporting applications. Familiar with content creation and management concepts. Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essential. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support.
