Ophthalmologist OpportunityWe are seeking an Ophthalmologist to join our growing team of providers. This individual will provide ophthalmological care to patients in the Ambulatory Clinics.Have a rewarding role with professional variety! Your office-based practice will focus on ophthalmic for patients. A non-surgical position, although there are opportunities to operate with residents if desired. Provides reasonable and prudent medical care, practices appropriate management, and uses sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine. The Ophthalmologist provides medical services within the scope of their licensing, training, and credentialing. You will address conditions, illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the eye, including its related structures and visual pathways.Key ResponsibilitiesProvides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of disorders of the eye and orbit. Analysis of Humphrey Visual Field testing, fundus photography and OCT.Performing minor procedures, such as excision of chalazion and benign eyelid lesions, is optional.Provides reasonable and prudent medical/surgical care practices appropriate management and uses sound clinical judgment based in best practice standards and evidenced based medicine. Maintains confidentiality in regards to patients, staff and program matters at all times.Educates patients on preventive health care and chronic disease management or refers to appropriate resources or agencies.Consults with other staff or specialists to make appropriate referrals for acute, chronic and preventive health care.Required QualificationsEducation: Degree from an accredited Medical School. Documented completion of Residency training from an accredited institution. CPR Certification is required.Experience: Board Certification or Board Eligibility. (Board certification must be attained within the timeframe dictated by one's specialty in order to remain on staff at the CS-HHC if one was originally board-eligible at the time of one's hire.) Connecticut Licensure.
