Location: Valdosta, GA

Compensation: Hourly, paid semi-monthly

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Loan Processor to join our lending team in Valdosta, GA. The Loan Processor will be responsible for managing residential loan files from application through closing, ensuring that all required documentation is collected, reviewed, and accurately maintained. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple loan files while meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.

• Collect, verify, and organize borrower financial documents, including income, employment, assets, credit, and property information.

• Process residential mortgage loan files from application through underwriting and closing.

• Communicate with borrowers to obtain missing or updated documentation and provide status updates.

• Review loan files to ensure they meet company, investor, and regulatory requirements.

• Submit complete loan packages to underwriting and coordinate responses to underwriting conditions.

• Work closely with Loan Officers, Underwriters, processors, closing teams, and other internal departments to keep loans moving efficiently.

• Monitor loan milestones, deadlines, and outstanding conditions to ensure timely processing.

• Review disclosures and other loan documentation for accuracy.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the loan origination system.

• Follow all applicable federal, state, and company lending policies and procedures.

• Provide professional and responsive customer service throughout the loan process.

• Identify potential issues or missing information early and communicate them to the appropriate parties.

• Assist with ensuring loans progress smoothly through approval and closing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Loan Processor, Mortgage Loan Processor, or in a closely related mortgage lending position preferred.

• Knowledge of residential mortgage lending and loan processing procedures.

• Understanding of income, employment, credit, asset, and property documentation.

• Familiarity with underwriting requirements and loan conditions.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple loan files and competing deadlines.

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

• Proficiency with loan origination systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of FHA, VA, conventional, and other residential mortgage products is a plus.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or mortgage industry certifications are beneficial.
