AI Data Annotator (Remote Contract)

About the Role

An opportunity is available for a detail-oriented AI Data Annotator to help improve the accuracy, consistency and quality of artificial intelligence systems. The role involves reviewing AI-generated content across text, images, video and documents, evaluating outputs against defined criteria, and providing clear written explanations for quality assessments.

This position is suited to strong readers and writers with sound judgment, analytical thinking skills and experience reviewing creative, technical or written work against established standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated text, images, videos and documents against detailed guidelines.
• Assess output quality, identify errors and inconsistencies, and flag areas for improvement.
• Apply evaluation criteria consistently across different types of content.
• Write clear, structured and well-reasoned justifications for evaluation decisions.
• Follow written instructions independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
• Use feedback and performance guidance to improve evaluation quality over time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree completed or currently in progress.
• Excellent written English, with clear, precise and well-organised communication.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and independent judgment.
• At least one year of experience in a role involving evaluation or review against defined standards. Relevant backgrounds may include:
• UI/UX or graphic design
• Photography or video production
• Editorial work or research
• Quality assurance
• Technical writing and documentation
• Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Must be based in the United States or Canada.

Technical Requirements

• Desktop or laptop running Windows 10 or later, or a recent version of macOS.
• Stable, high-speed internet connection with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
• Chromebooks, Linux-based systems and tablets, including iPads and devices used in tablet mode, are not supported.
