Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Operating Room RN provides specialized perioperative nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes during complex procedures. This role requires thorough surgical expertise, proficiency in vascular, general, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and robotic surgeries, along with circulation and scrub capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  
  
• 
  Serve as circulator and scrub nurse, demonstrating proficiency in diverse surgical specialties including vascular, orthopedic, general, ENT, urology, and robotics.
  
  
• 
  Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring sterile fields and adherence to infection control protocols.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with surgical team members to develop and implement patient care plans tailored to specific procedures.
  
  
• 
  Manage on-call responsibilities, responding within 30 minutes to emergency or urgent requests during scheduled shifts and holidays.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient conditions intraoperatively and provide immediate intervention as needed to maintain patient safety and stability.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in a surgical or perioperative setting.
  
  
• 
  Current WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses accepted for submission.
  
  
• 
  Certification in BLS; ACLS and PALS if required by the specialty.
  
  
• 
  Proven proficiency in vascular, general, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and robotic surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated ability to scrub and circulate effectively in high-pressure surgical environments.
  
  
• 
  Valid drivers license; minimum of 100 miles from the facility.
