The firm’s active, multi-manager model demands flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including the development of next-generation analytical and trading capabilities. This team partners closely across product, quantitative, and engineering functions to deliver high-performance technology that supports real-time decision-making in fast-moving trading environments.We are looking for a Front-End Developer to build and maintain high-performance, low-latency user interfaces for trading applications. You will work closely with UI engineers, algorithmic developers, product, quantitative, and backend engineering teams to deliver real-time data visualizations, workflows, and dashboards that support trading and risk management. This role is ideal for an experienced React engineer who cares deeply about performance, reliability, and clean UX.What You'll DoDesign, build, and maintain React-based user interfaces that power core trading application workflowsImplement real-time data visualizations for orders, prices, positions, and other key metrics using streaming technologies such as WebSocketsTurn product requirements and stakeholder feedback into intuitive, efficient, and scalable user experiences, rapidly prototyping and iterating on new featuresOptimize front-end performance, responsiveness, and reliability across complex, data-intensive screensPartner with backend engineers to integrate REST and WebSocket APIs, as well as WebAssembly-based componentsWrite clean, testable, well-structured code supported by unit and integration testsProvide best practices around code reviews, front-end architecture decisions, and developer-level production support for the front-end componentsPrototype, iterate, and support front-end components in production to ensure a high-quality user experienceWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field5+ years of professional experience building web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript5+ years with React in production, including substantial experience with hooks, functional components, and modern patternsStrong knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3Experience with real-time data UIs (tables, charts, dashboards) and (WebSockets, SSE, or similar streaming technologies)Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or similar)Ability to leverage LLM-assisted tools (e.g., code assistants) effectively in the development workflowExperience in fixed-income capital markets or other capital markets, specifically with concepts such as positions, P&L, risk metrics, and market data is a plusGood communication skills and ability to collaborate directly with non-technical stakeholdersOur tech stackFront-end: React 18, TypeScript, AG Grid, Ant Design, WebSockets, WASMBack-end: Node.js, Java Spring Boot (used to bundle/serve the front-end — familiarity is a plus, not required), RustData: MS SQL, ElasticsearchSecurity/Auth: Kerberos, JWTSalary RangeMillennium offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future.
