Shift Details

Schedule: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Note: No Thanksgiving RTO

Position Overview

This role is within the Emergency Department (ED) and primarily focuses on caring for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCU, with at least 2 years of relevant experience within the past year.

Qualifications

• Essential Experience: Minimum of 2 years, strong PCU background required.
• Preferred Experience: ED experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• First-time travelers are welcome if they have EPIC experience and 2 years of experience. First-time travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be considered.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW).

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support)
• EKG Test upon arrival

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and titrating drips, including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labatolol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine.
• Participate in a team nursing approach and assist with floating to similar units as needed.
• Provide patient care for various diagnoses, including:



• Chest Pain
• Syncope
• Heart Failure
• Sepsis
• Overdose
• GI Bleed
• COPD
• Pneumonia
• Post-Cath with stent (no CABG)
• ICD/Pacer insertions
• Cardioversions

Special Equipment

• BiPAP
• CPAP
• Vapotherm
• Alaris Pumps
• Phillips Monitoring System

Skills Required

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood Product Administration
• Caring for Ventilated Patients
• Chest Tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Telemetry monitoring
• Vasoactive drip management and titration
• Tracheostomy care/management
• Wound Care/Wound Vac management

Facility Information

• Location: City, State
• Patient Population: Diverse age groups, high daily census, and a variety of medical conditions.
• Support Services: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation.
