Lead Mechanical Engineer (Topside Package)

Responsibilities Lead and supervise all mechanical engineering work for assigned EPC projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, global standards, and quality requirements. Manage and guide the mechanical engineering team—including support from remote global offices—in preparing and reviewing procurement engineering documents (technical specifications, datasheets, MTOs, TBE, vendor documents, etc.). Provide mechanical input to Process, Layout, and E&I teams, supporting detailed calculations, analyses, and design solutions that meet customer safety, reliability, and operational standards. Ensure consistent engineering execution methodologies, balanced workload distribution, and effective communication across cross‑functional and cross‑regional teams. Participate in project and technical meetings, 3D model reviews, and workshops; address technical queries related to mechanical package system design and review associated deliverables (VCDs, 3rd‑party study reports, workshop reports, etc.). Act as the main interface for the mechanical discipline with clients, PMT, construction, procurement, commissioning, and other engineering disciplines. Coordinate with owners, statutory bodies, and classification authorities to achieve design compliance and approval for project plans. Generate engineering progress reports for management review and submission to stakeholders; maintain an organized project database for future reference. Conduct internal audits (upon qualification) to ensure full compliance with engineering workflows and quality standards. Drive lessons‑learned initiatives, including cross‑project sharing and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Review and manage vendor engineering documents and coordinate technical clarifications. Participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and support punch list resolution to ensure timely delivery of mechanical packages to site. Plan and allocate manpower based on team competencies and project requirements. Collaborate with package leads to escalate critical issues or bottlenecks and drive resolution. Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics or related engineering disciplines. 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within EPC environments (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or similar). Strong background in package equipment, static & rotating machinery engineering. Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Experience in engineering, installation support, pre‑commissioning and commissioning support in mechanical engineering offshore oil & gas projects such as fixed platform, FPU, FPSO.
