Distribution Coordinator, Nutrition Center

Under general supervision, oversees the distribution and transportation of product from the Nutrition Center to MPS sites; ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient distribution and delivery.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provides support and training to food delivery drivers on proper storage and transportation and delivery of food items to sites.
• Oversees district HACCP plan for distribution and delivery; ensures drivers understand and are held accountable to the food safety practices in the HACCP plan; ensures food temperatures are monitored and recorded.
• Troubleshoots delivery issues, product shortages, product substitutions/case counts, delivery errors, and food emergencies.
• Maintains distribution and delivery standards and verifies accuracy of shipments.
• Manages paperwork to include order sheets, order additions, returns/pick-ups, vehicle pre-trip inspections, and truck temperature logs.
• Utilizes data from the internal ordering system and other sources to manage product.
• Ensures deliveries are stored properly upon delivery to MPS sites, and all MPS equipment is picked up and brought back to the Nutrition Center.
• Operates powered forklift and riding pallet jack, and moves material according to work order and material requisition form.
• Collaborates with coworkers to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Works independently, and assures that all safety rules, regulations, and policies are observed; performs duties within scope of authority and training, and in compliance with MPS policies.
• Monitors work site to assure that safety rules and regulations are adhered to, and that the work zone and all equipment are in safe operating condition.
• Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
• Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and MPS information.

Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND three (3) years of coordinating and managing food distribution experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

License and certification requirements: Must possess and maintain a Fork Lift Operator License. State Food Handler's permit (ServSafe Certification) must be obtained prior to completion of probationary period. A valid Minnesota State Driver's License may be required.

Physical demands and working environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors at MPS facilities; requires constant physical effort; may be exposed to safety hazards and dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed including use of safety equipment; a job in this category may require walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and ability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
