Managed Care Coordinator

An established health system in New York City is seeking a Managed Care Coordinator to join their team. This hybrid role supports care coordination, authorizations, and member services for Medicare and Medicaid populations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
About the Opportunity:- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (at least 2 days a week onsite)
- Receive and process requests for preauthorization of healthcare services and supplies
- Coordinate services and authorizations with providers and vendors
- Route cases requiring clinical review to the appropriate care management or pre-authorization team members
- Track hospital admissions and discharges
- Verify member eligibility, maintain accurate records, and complete timely data entry in internal systems
- High School Diploma / GED
- Healthcare experience required
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in roles such as care coordinator, patient care coordinator, medical authorization specialist, healthcare customer service representative, or case management assistant
- Managed care, care coordination, care management, or utilization management experience
- Experience with authorizations, provider or vendor coordination, member services, or healthcare operations
- Familiarity with medical terminology
