CDL A Gasoline Driver | Port Reading, NJ Island Transportation Position Requirements CDL A Driver with a minimum of 1 year of tractor‑trailer experience. Endorsements: Tanker & Hazmat. Required: TWIC Card. Required: Clean CDL and Medical Card. No prior gasoline experience necessary; paid training is offered. Union Medical/Dental, Pension & Company 401(k) Plan. Paid Holidays, Sick, Personal, & Vacation. Responsibilities Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents or violations. Transport gasoline from the local terminal to local gas stations. Pre‑trip and post‑trip inspection – provide proper proof of delivery. Compliance with local, state, and federal DOT rules and regulations. Salary & Pay Top pay scale in 2025 is $38.00 per hour (includes safety bonus) for drivers with 3 years of prior gasoline experience. Starting pay is $35.00 per hour, with bonus. Pay raises occur at 12, 24, and 36 months. Equivalent CT drives receive $1.00 less per hour. Schedule Steady schedule of 5 days with 6‑day options under full DOT HOS regulations. Two consecutive days off and home daily. New equipment and growing business.
