Payroll & Tax Specialist

Own multi-state payroll from start to finish, with a real team behind you - not just a processing queue.

LifeSkills Connection, Inc. is hiring a Payroll & Tax Specialist to process multi-state payroll and keep us compliant with payroll tax requirements across our operating states and government contracts. You'll partner closely with our VP of Finance, our HR team, and Paycor as our payroll platform - this is a hands-on role with real ownership, not a back-office function nobody notices.

What You'll Do

• Process accurate, on-time multi-state payroll through Paycor for your assigned entities and contracts

• Keep payroll tax accounts current and registered as we grow into new states and locations

• Review and reconcile timekeeping data, working directly with supervisors and employees to resolve discrepancies

• Administer wage garnishments and other mandated deductions

• Support compliance with wage-and-hour requirements on our government contracts (FLSA, SCA) - we'll train you on the government-contracting specifics if you're new to that world

• Be a go-to resource for employees with pay and deduction questions

• Partner with Finance and HR rather than working in isolation - payroll here is a team sport

What You'll Bring

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field - or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience

• Comfort with Excel and payroll/HRIS systems; Paycor and QuickBooks Online experience a plus, not required

• Government contracting, SCA, or prevailing wage exposure a plus - not something you need to already know

• CPP or FPC certification a plus, not required
