Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a traveling Physical Therapist team in Michigan where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing a new location. This role supports outpatient services within a hospital setting and delegates to physical therapist assistants and aides while following physician orders and facility policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by APTA.
  • Active Michigan Physical Therapist license required. LARA and/or Nursys documentation must show active MI PT license. Candidates outside the 50-mile radius of the facility will not be considered.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • Outpatient physical therapy experience required.
  • PT experience is required. Acute care experience highly preferred.
  • Work history and skills checklist current to one year, pertinent to the specialty, required.
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating function using formal and informal testing measures for skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular systems.
  • Experience developing and documenting goal-specific treatment regimens and plans of care coordinated with physicians.
  • Prior experience scheduling frequency- and duration-specific treatment plans and educating patients, families, or caregivers on pathology, prognosis, and interventions.

Assignment Details

  • M-F 8 hour shifts: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • 40 hour guarantee.
  • No weekends required.

Impacting Patient Care

This position engages in patient-focused activities using assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards and physician orders. Typical responsibilities include evaluating patient function, developing and submitting written treatment plans, updating plans of care, co-signing PTA verbal orders as needed, devising frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules, and educating patients and caregivers on treatment rationale and alternatives.
