ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team across various locations in the region. This role requires expertise in critical care nursing and the ability to manage high-acuity patients effectively.

Unit Information

• ICU Beds: 10
• ICU Patient Ratios: 2:1 (under normal circumstances); may extend to 3:1
• PCU Patient Ratios: 3:1 (under normal circumstances); may extend to 4:1

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the ICU, including care for ventilated patients and those recovering from procedures.
• Titrate drips and manage medications such as sedation agents, pressors, diuretics, and insulin.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists and hospitalists to deliver optimal patient care.
• Utilize the EPIC charting system for accurate patient documentation.
• Participate in patient education and support activities.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Extensive experience in critical care settings, particularly with ventilated patients and therapeutic hypothermia.
• Ability to manage multiple patients with complex healthcare needs simultaneously.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts with a standardized centralized scheduling system.
• Weekend requirements: Every other weekend.
• Holiday requirements: Rotate with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements

Traveling nurses will primarily work in the ICU with potential floating to the PCU and medical-surgical units when necessary.

Additional Information

• Equipment Utilized: Ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, high flow oxygen therapy.
• Remote monitoring technicians available; RNs are required to read their own telemetry strips.
• No specific scrub color; professional scrubs of any color are acceptable.
